I know. I know.

This is the section where we tell everyone how our lives have led us to our place in the arts and have set me apart from all other actors in the world. Blah. Blah. Blah.

But wait. This biography really does take us on adventures that have, in fact, molded my acting skills and styles of today.

My maternal Grandmother was a professional actor in Cuba during the 30s and 40s. She moved to New York and owned a restaurant on West 46th Street and Broadway where she and I spoke about her love of acting and her disappointment in not being proficient in English so that she could continue her career in the United States. From that day on, my grandmother made sure that I could read, write, and speak Spanish as well as I could read, write and speak English. It was one of the many gifts she gave to me during her lifetime.

One day, I walked into the restaurant and discovered the joy of Performance Art.... she had bought a jukebox for the restaurant and showed me how to use it. My job was to dance, sing and act out the songs for the customers. After hearing my first applause, I was hooked. That was another gift. At the urging of my parents, I went to college, earned a degree in Languages, and taught Spanish in the public schools. At that time, little did I know, that teaching would allow me to perform five shows a day in front of a live audience. I took acting lessons in the evenings at HB Studios and T. Schreiber Studio and it was during this time that I landed my first voiceover and television commercial. I also spent evenings rehearsing and performing onstage both in New York and New Jersey.

As a comedic actor, I have played every Jewish mother in theatre history regardless of age. Yes. You read that right... Jewish Mother.

As a dramatic actor, I have played women from varied cultures who are either searching for freedom, seeking independence, or locked into lives of quiet desperation. My aptitude for accents has also introduced me to voices and characters from every corner of the world.

Being a member of Actor's Equity and SAG-AFTRA has allowed me to perform around the country with the highest echelon of actors who have helped me hone my acting skills. When not performing onstage, in front of a camera or in my voiceover studio, I keep fit with water aerobics, salsa dancing and walking. My husband and I have designed and renovated two houses and travelled the world together.

Acting has given my life a depth and meaning I never thought possible.

“Have job. Will travel.”
